About Puebloan People
The Puebloan people lived in the Intermountain region or also know as Sierra Madre Occidental. They lived in four corners, which today are the four states: Utah, northeastern Arizona, northern New Mexico, and southwestern Colorado. They mainly lived in Arizona and New Mexico. There was approximately 35,000 Puebloan's living there. There were four groups living in this area: Taos, Acoma, Zuni, and Hopi. They lived in highlands/plateau region with high elevations to approximately 4,500 - 8,500 feet (which was 2,600 meters). The wind and the water in this area created the steep walled canyons. The land was mostly dry, with twisty rivers, tall mesas and hills. There were more than twenty canyons in this area which all of them drained into the Mancos River. The Puebloan's mostly lived in deserts, which was a challenge place to live. The reason why is that there was not as much resources there.
