The Pueblo people had a many items to trade with other tribes because they were able to take simple things from nature and turn them into something useful and beautiful. They made lots of pottery and most were decorated with black painted designs on white or light gray backgrounds. They also had unpainted, grey pottery for cooking, and storage. They wove elaborate baskets and sandals and used animal hides as blankets and aprons. Furthermore, they wove cloth from the cotton they grew. The Pueblo people would trade for shells, corals, and turquoise that they could use in their crafts. They are famous for their delicate necklaces that they would create and then drew detail and colourful designs on. It seemed that their trade allowed them to acquire things that weren’t necessary to their survival but enhanced their quality of life.
